No amount of training can match the benefit of having personally experienced a similar issue, and we understand the importance of this type of support. That’s why we offer a number of groups that provide opportunities to share and learn with similar people. Even if we can’t offer the group you need, we will try to find one within your community.
As part of the services and supports we offer, ILRC is available as a meeting space for a number of groups on a regular basis. Along with these meetings, we also host workshops and events when possible.
At times, the needs of someone may go beyond the peer support groups we offer at ILRC. In these cases, we encourage people to find a group that works for them within the community. As well, we are able to provide support to ensure that this group is accommodating.
We are always interested in hearing from other peer support groups within the community that offer services our consumers may be interested in. As well, we are more than willing to work with you to ensure that your group is accessible to people with disabilities.
